YMCA of TopeWe build strong kids, strong families, and strong communities. To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit mind and body for all.

The YMCA of Topeka provides this community with programs that build the body, mind and spirit of the participants through a variety of programs form childcare to seniors. Our programs include before and after school childcare, summer day camp, youth sports, teen leadership and mentoring programs, health and fitness for all ages. Six-week skill classes in swimming, arts, karate, gymnastics, youth fitness, preschool sports. Camp Hammond serves 2000 youth each year and is available for youth groups churches, businesses and retreats. Outdoor nature education is taught at camp. Facilities include a lodge, 4 cabins, 14-acre lake, hiking trail and low ropes course.

The YMCA serves over 8000 youth each year in youth athletics. Programs include football, soccer, volleyball, basketball and t-ball and 3rd and 4th grade baseball programs for pre-school to college age are available. The YMCA Kuehne Branch, located in north Topeka provides many of the same programs listed above. This full facility branch is known for its accessible pool and friendly staff and great equipment. Many youth and teen programs are run out of this branch. The Southwest Branch YMCA is our newest branch. The 38,000 sq.ft. facility provides the state of art fitness and wellness equipment. The pool is a family fun pool with a water slide, and youth play area. Similar programs as mentioned above are offered at this beautiful new facility. Our goal is to help people reach their full potential.

History:
The YMCA of Topeka has been in existence for 127 years serving the Topeka community. We have three facility branches and our Camp Hammond branch. Each branch has a volunteer advisory board making recommendations to the Metro Board of Directors. Key leaders partnering with the Topeka community have built these YMCA's for the benefit of the Topeka and surrounding area. The YMCA is an inclusive organization that serves the whole community with financial assistance available for those who meet our income guidelines.

 

YMCA Character Values Awards

The YMCA teaches the positive values of Caring, Respect, Responsibility, and Honesty in all of its programs. The Character Values Award is an opportunity to nominate and recognize community members who examplify these important values.
